The Gulfood in Dubai was again an interesting and fascinating fair. We were able to do a store check on site and convinced ourselves of the great placement of our products by our customer Carrefour. There we were presented directly next to the fruit shelf. We were very happy about that.
A novelty in the United Arab Emirates is the decided sugar tax, which has been valid since the beginning of the year. A new 50 % consumer tax will be applied to all sugary drinks. It is believed that higher end-consumer prices will reduce the buying of sugary foods and drinks. The main goal is to reduce lifestyle diseases related to high sugar consumption such as diabetes. As a result, end consumers should develop a healthier lifestyle and pay more attention to the ingredients of the products.
At the Gulfood we took the opportunity to present our new products: organic rose flower syrup in the 0.5 l glass bottle and the new organic sports drinks in the 0.75 l rePET bottle. The new innovations were very well received by the visitors.
